![]() Dom Tower The city of Utrecht is dominated by the ‘De Dom’ cathedral and its 112 metre church tower that can be seen from all over the city. The church is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday 10am through to 5pm when interested paries can get a look at this 13th century gothic cathedral first hand. ![]() Schroder House The fortresses that make up the ‘New Dutch Waterline’ are a definite must for any visitor to Utrecht and the surrounding areas. These city defences consisting of 46 fortresses and well over 900 hydraulic engineering works were used to flood and defend the area when it came under attack. During the month of September the city of Utrecht organises a National fortress month with many activities and tours centred around the whole network of fortresses. A number of the individual fortresses are open to visitors throughout the year. |
