Culturally Eindhoven is both a young city and a forwardly driven modern one. Almost everything in Eindhoven is driven and inspired by the technology giant Philips that has both sponsored and built most of the cultural and education institutes in the city.
The massive University population in the city helps to drive many of the cultural events that take place in Eindhoven and visitors can be sure to find a gig or concert going on at any time of the year. A few of the popular venues in the city are the Effenaar, Dynamo, the Plaza Futura ,  and the Muziekcentrum Frits Philips.
