Delft immediately coungers up the thought of Delft Blue China and any visit to the city would be incomplete without a vist to the 17th Century Royal Delft Factory where interested parties can receive a guided tour of the factory and museum located on site.
The centre of Delft has a number of very interesting historical buildings and churches such as the Oude Kerk (Old Church) and the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) the latter of which being the resting place of the Dutch Royal family, The  House of Orange. Museum Het Prinsenhof, 'the Princes' Court', one of the houses ofWilliam of Orange now depicts the story of the eighty years war with the spanish and is a must for all visitors to Delft.

Delft Town Hall

Delft town hall is definettly worth a visit massivly damaged by fire in 1618 and then rebuilt in 1620 by Architect Hendrick de Keyser the building is now used mainly for weddings and guided tours are available.
Delft is also the birth place of the painter Vermeer and the city in which he lived and produced many of his works of art. Apreciators of the painter can take a guided walk around the city centre to get an idea of the painters life, the walk takes about two hours, costs € 2,20 and is available at the Tourist Information Point.
Befor leaving the city any visitor must take in the only remaing entrance to Delft. The Eastern Gate (Oostpoort) was built around 1400. It is the only gate remaining in Delft, after all others were demolished in the nineteenth century.
